Short Bio
David Luechauer, Ph.D., joined the faculty of Loyola University New Orleans in 2008. Luechauer was most recently an associate professor of leadership and associate director of the Davis Leadership Center at the Davis College of Business at Jacksonville University in Florida.
Since 2002, Luechauer has served as a visiting associate professor in the M.B.A. program at the Helsinki School of Economics in Finland, where he was named 2005 Saastamoinen Foundation professor of year. He was associate professor of management and the leadership area coordinator at Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind., from 1992 to 2004, and he was a visiting assistant professor of management at Miami University of Ohio from 1990 to 1992. Luechauer has received numerous awards and been recognized as an outstanding teacher by his students, “Who's Who in Higher Education” and Beta Gamma Sigma international business fraternity.
He holds a doctorate in organizational behavior and social psychology from the University of Cincinnati, a master’s degree in communication and psychology from Miami University of Ohio and a bachelor’s degree in finance and communication from Ohio Northern University. Luechauer is a prolific writer and presenter, whose works have been published in various national periodicals and heard in dozens of cities all over the country and internationally.
Outside of academia, Luechauer has served as a general manager of a radio station and as a group facilitator in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. He regularly consults for businesses, which include Georgia Pacific, Fidelity, NCAA, Bank One, Sandals Resorts International, Roche, Air Jamaica, and the Indianapolis Colts.
